The NFL is the last American professional sports league to sign an official betting deal. The league announced this week that three sportsbooks are now official partners. The deal gives betting partners access to official league data, and allows them to tie their brands to player statistics. The league is paying nearly $1 billion to the companies that sign on, if the five-year deal holds. The league can opt out at any point after the first three years. There are a few other advantages to this arrangement as well.
DraftKings recently signed a multi-year deal with the NBA to be an official sports betting operator. The company will use the league’s trademarks on its mobile sports betting app and at its physical sportsbook locations. Additionally, DraftKings will receive official NBA betting data. The league enlisted the help of Sportradar and Genius Sports to make this deal possible. Moreover, DraftKings also owns Vegas Sports Information Network, which is a multi-platform broadcast of the games.
