Official Poker Rules

Official poker is a set of rules governing the game of poker. The goal of a poker rulebook is to create a set of rules that is the best in the industry.

A poker game has two players, one of whom is a dealer. Each player is given two hole cards. After each player has been dealt two cards, the betting begins.

There are four types of bets: the small blind, the big blind, the option, and the raise. In most games, the minimum amount of money a player can bet in the first round of betting is twice the big blind.

Before each hand, each player will post an ante. Typically, the ante is a fixed amount. During the game, antes are raised at regularly scheduled intervals.

The first round of betting occurs after each player has been dealt two hole cards. If there is no player who has made a bet, the player to the left of the dealer must make a bet.

Once the first round of betting has been completed, the showdown is held. A player who has the highest hand wins the pot.

Players who fold their hand are out of the game. To help keep mistakes to a minimum, players should avoid making comments about their folded hands during the deal.

An incorrect verbal declaration of hand ranking is called MISCALL. One of the worst forms of cheating is splashing chips into the pot.
