Official Poker Shuffles & Cuts Volume 1

Poker is a card game in which players wager real money (or chips that represent currency) on the outcome of a hand. The game has a wide variety of variants, but Texas Hold’em is the most popular. The game is primarily a competition of skill, but it also contains elements of luck and psychology. In order to win, the player must be able to adapt his or her strategy according to the situation.

During the course of a hand, five cards are dealt face up in stages. Each player receives two hole cards, then three community cards are dealt (“the flop”) and later a single card (“the river”). Players may then place bets by checking, calling the raise of another player, raising themselves or folding. The player with the best poker hand wins the pot.

It is a good idea to be polite to your opponents. You will likely spend a few hours with them, and a little friendly interaction can help you get a better feel for the table. Being rude, however, will give away information about the strength of your hand, and can make your opponent more likely to bet against you in the future.

In this first edition of the Official Poker Shuffles & Cuts DVD-Volume 1, Rich Ferguson teaches flashy four and five-packet cuts, as well as a number of flamboyant moves that are sure to appeal to novice and intermediate card workers. He also offers a number of variations to these cuts, including a flamboyant crazy cut that looks very similar to Chris Kenner’s “Sybil.” The DVD is available at www.pokervideos.com/dvds/official-poker-shuffles-cuts-volume-1.
