All bets on official games will be settled based on the result as declared by the relevant game’s official governing body. This includes overtime scores where applicable. Games that are postponed or abandoned without any play being made will see bets void and stakes returned unless they are rescheduled within 24 hours and then played.

The National Hockey League has taken a much more conservative approach to sports betting than the NFL and NBA. They’ve signed partnerships with sports betting companies and have their players sign personal sponsorship agreements with them, but they still have strict rules about gambling while on the job.

A player can’t place a bet while they’re on the road for a game or at any time that they’re considered to be at work, even if they’re on a team bus, in a hotel room or whatever. It’s not as lenient as you might think and could be a major fireable offense for the NHL.

Ohio legalized sports betting in 2021 and online sports wagering began there in 2022. In-person sports betting launched in 2023. Betting on in-state collegiate games is allowed but player prop bets are prohibited. Efforts to get sports betting legalized in California in 2022 failed and the issue will likely come up again in 2023.
