Rule 1. Verbal Declarations Take Precedence Over Chips
The player’s first verbal declaration defines the bet. In clear and reasonable circumstances, a verbal declaration takes precedence over chips. In unclear situations or where verbal and chips are contradictory, the TD will determine the bet by a combination of Rule 1 and House standards.
2. Non-standard Terms or Gestures Are at Players Risk
In addition to using time-honored, standard betting terms, players must use gestures that are deemed appropriate by the TD. They must not obscure player identity or distract the TD from action. Examples include tapping the table or moving chips in and out of the hand.
3. Non-standard Clothing Or Other Acoutrements Are at Players Risk
In all cases, players must ensure that their clothing or other accoutrements do not continuously obscure their identity or become a distraction to the action. The TD will assess the situation and determine whether or not the clothes or other accoutrements violate House standards in their sole judgment.
4. Angle Shooting
An intentional, unethical move to take advantage of a situation or a less experienced player at the poker table. This can be done through a number of different tactics and it is often used to intimidate other players or make them fold their hand.
