Official betting is when sports books officially settle wagers on their own. This includes bets placed in-person at the sports book and online. Sportsbooks can offer a variety of markets such as run lines, totals, and inning bets. It’s important to know your rules before placing your bets so you don’t get ripped off.
Inning Bets
If a game is called during the inning you’re betting on, all bets on that inning will be void unless otherwise stated (e.g. a playoff game where the 6.5 innings rule is used). The exception to this is if a team scores in that inning and the official result reverts back to the previous inning.
In order for a bet on the money line to have action, the game must go at least 7 full innings (9 if home team is ahead). If it’s halted during this time and doesn’t resume later on in the same inning or scheduled to resume from where it was halted, all bets will be void unless specifically stated.
Players, managers, and coaches are not allowed to place bets on games they play in or are involved with. This also applies to anyone who has inside information about a WBSC competition. This includes anyone who is a player, manager or coach at clubs at lower levels of the men’s and women’s league systems, as well as match officials at FA Level 4 or below.
Colorado legalized sports betting in 2021, but it didn’t launch its first sportsbook until February of 2022. It currently allows online and in-person sports betting, but doesn’t allow wagers on collegiate teams.
